Miss Gray collected pictures of European royalty and opera singers. The collection also includes six postcards, 1908-1911, of Robert E. Lee, Lee and Stonewall Jackson, University of Virginia in 1907, and European royalty sent to Miss Gray for her scrapbooks; a letter, 1903 April 4, S. Kate Willis, Talbot County, Md., to Mrs. Isabella B. Teel, Washington D.C., concerning Willis family genealogy; and an autographed picture of the wreck of the Endurance, Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton's ship.

Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) served as General of the Confederate Army in the U.S. Civil War and was president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia from 1865 to 1870. Endurance was the three-masted barquentine in which Sir Ernest Shackleton and a crew of 27 men and one cat sailed for the Antarctic on the 1914–1917 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. It was launched in 1912 from Sandefjord in Norway; three years later, it was crushed by pack ice and sank in the Weddell Sea off Antarctica. All of its crew survived.
